Victorian Amethyst Bracelet, 15ct gold circa 1880

Enquire about this item:

This is the most amazing and rare tapered Victorian Amethyst and 15ct gold bracelet. The size and quality of the faceted amethysts has to be seen to be believed. This type of stone set bracelet was popular in the late Victorian period and it is an impressive piece of jewellery. The design is a wonderful mix of straightforward, elegance with the simple settings and interlinked sections between the stones and Victorian sentimentality displayed in the clasp which is beautifully engraved with flowers and patterned edges. The amethysts are top quality being a regal and rich deep purple and beautifully matched. They weigh a whopping 118ct approx! The stones have natural inclusions ( to be expected in such large stones) and a very very small area of wear on the reverse of the centre stone. The central setting has a very minor indent to the side. The solder on the joints of a couple of the settings has darkened over time but again this is a normal consequence of the age of this piece and not a fault or concern. The clasp is secure and substantial.
The bracelet is comfortable to wear and will appeal to collectors and true lovers of quality antique jewellery..
This would make a most wonderful birthday or anniversary gift.
