Antique Victorian ‘Scottish Agate’ brooch
An amazing brooch in the most beautiful colours. There is engraving in between the flush set stones. These pieces of Agate jewellery were made popular by Queen Victoria’s love of Balmoral Castle and Scotland. Originally, these pieces were made with slate backs, but later in the Victorian period they were silver backed and occasionally made in gold.
From Circa 1880, this large brooch measures approx. 6cm in diameter.
This piece is in excellent condition.
