Victorian Antique Gold Ice Skate Brooch

The Victorians loved to show off their interests in their jewellery and as such novelty pieces were produced to satisfy this trend. This ice skate has amazing detail, including the studs to stop the shoe slipping on the wooden top. The leather straps are not depicted, but it does have a serrated front edge which was used to stop the skater.
