Victorian Silver Cufflinks, engraved, Dated 1897

Enquire about this item:

These domed Victorian cufflinks are engraved with a foliate and floral design and are connected with chains which bear a support mark and and show practically no wear at all. One side of the cufflink bears the full hall mark and the other the support mark and date letter. These Marks reinforce the fact that these are a complete and original pair. The edges are rolled as is typical of this period.
When these cufflinks were hallmarked, the stamp was punched a little too hard causing the silver to be slightly split. Perhaps an apprentice was over enthusiastic! However it has be4nnrepaired with a small patch of silver. There are also a couple of very tiny ( only visible with the loupe) holes on the edge of the hallmark. These however do not interfere with the overall appearance of these lovely cufflinks.
