Antique 18ct Gold Plait/Knot Ring, 1894

This is a lovely 18ct Gold Victorian ring in the form of a plait or knot design. The ring is very detailed and has been hand made, not cast. The central Knot design is edged by a gold wire which runs together to form a double shank. It is a very comfortable ring sitting low on the finger.
These knot or plait rings were popular in the later Victorian Period and were often Sentimental, friendship or lovers rings, binding the giver with recipient.
This one also bears a full hallmark clearly dating it to 1894.
