This stunning and unique necklace is converted from a Victorian 15ct brooch (circa 1870) and features a diamond set silver horseshoe mounted on a diamond encrusted 15ct gold riding crop. The chain we have added is an 18ct gold trace chain which is adjustable and sparkles as it moves. Silver was used to set diamonds before platinum was readily available. The 14 diamonds in the horseshoe are old cut diamonds and there are 5 rose cut diamonds in the crop. The detail is incredible with gold wire wrapped around the crop, the raised section on the end of the horseshoe and the contrasting diamond set strap whip end. The contrast between the diamonds, silver and gold plus the fantastic design features make this a truly rare piece.
This lovely necklace is elegant, sporty and interesting and will appeal to horse lovers, horse racing enthusiasts, collectors of horseshoe jewellery and anyone who loves unusual well made antique diamond jewellery.
It can be gifted for many occasions including, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, weddings etc.

MATERIALS: 15ct gold, silver, diamond, 18ct gold chain

MARKS: 750 on bolt ring

CONDITION: excellent antique used condition – horseshoe section, excellent – chain. NB: there is some tarnishing of the silver in the horseshoe. The only way to totally remove this is by dipping it in jewellery cleaner which would also remove the antique patina. We do not recommend doing this.
