Victorian agate and gold stone mosaic bracelet

This combination of ‘Scottish agate’ and Italian Gold Stone inlaid with mosaic is unusualand quite stunning! Dating from mid to late Victorian period 1860-1880, I can only think that someone on a Grand Tour bought the mosaics back from Italy and had them set specifically in this style. It does work very well and makes an eye catching and thoroughly unique piece. Flowers were used in Victorian jewellery to depict sentiments and each gold stone panel of this bracelet is set with a mosaic of colourful flower bouquets.The large agates are grooved and the slight bowing allows the bracelet to sit around the wrist snuggly.
The settings are silver and the agate silver ends are engraved with a leaf pattern which compliments the flowers in the mosaic. The catch works very well and is secure.

ERA: Victorian 1860-1880

MEASUREMENTS: 17cm 6.75inches length approx. Mosaics are 25x20mm and agates are 28×18 mm approx.

CONDITION: very good, some very minor signs of general wear but nothing to detract from its value or appearance.
