Victorian Diamond Locket, circa 1870, 18ct and blue enamel.

This beautiful Victorian 18ct gold and diamond locket is in the most amazing condition. The rose diamonds are set in the form of a garter (belt) which became a very popular design in the Victorian period after Queen Victoria made Prince Albert a member of the Order of the Garter. The garter is highlighted around the edges with blue enamel. On the reverse is a discreet picture locket which still has the glass insert.

MATERIALS: 18ct gold (acid tested) , rose diamond, blue enamel, glass, metal rim.

CONDITION: excellent. Some jewellers marks on the reverse
